A worked-example Excel cost estimate showing how to structure a defensible budget from BOQ line items, rates, and contingencies.
The RFQS Sample Cost Estimate Template is a populated Excel workbook that demonstrates a clean estimating structure for a small fit-out or residential job. It is intentionally shown as a worked example rather than an empty template — the goal is for users to see how labour, materials, sub-contractor packages, prelims, and contingency stack together into a defensible total.
Use it as a starting point to build your own estimate, as a teaching aid for junior estimators, or as a reference when reviewing a contractor’s quote breakdown. Replace the sample data with your project numbers; the formula logic stays intact.
Fit: residential, fit-out, and light commercial estimates up to mid-six-figure ranges. Pair with F-01 (scope checklist) before locking the estimate.
